Analytical Chemist

Geotemps Inc. is currently recruiting for an analytical chemist for a permanent position in Reno, NV.

The analytical chemist will be involved in work as diverse as: chemical analysis; process development; product validation; quality control;

Typical work activities include but are not limited to the following:working as a team player to help define and carry out work programs efficiently and correctly;analyzing samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present;follow up with clients directives and questions;using both old and modern analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as atomic absorption and ICP, gravimetric and colorimetric; interpreting data and adhering to strict guidelines on documentation when recording data;reporting scientific results;writing reports utilizing the Microsoft Products WORD and EXCEL, proficient in the use of WORD and EXCEL;invoicing for test programs;be available for travel to a client facility, possibly in or outside of the USA;developing new analytical techniques for the analysis of geological, metallurgical samples and other chemicals; liaising (COMMUNICATING) with customers, staff and suppliers; performing preventative maintenance on equipment;using the internet and email;being aware of, and keeping up to date with, health and safety issues in all aspects of the work undertaken.

More senior analysts are likely to be involved in:

updating and carrying out the QA/QC functions of the laboratory;preparing the documentation for proposals and customized procedures;preparing the documentation required for both national and international certification;maintain documentation and information relating to the handling of hazardous waste materials;be responsible for final reports;outlining the specifications for finished procedures and reporting templates.
