We currently have an exciting position in Dallas, TX for a Regional Product Specialist.

 



JOB SUMMARY:

The CZM Regional Product Specialist (RPS) is responsible to train and mentor the sales region in the area of new products. The RPS commits to an annual new product unit sales plan for the region, with specific MBO’s tied to product introduction. The RPS must develop excellent product knowledge of the new product line; glaucoma, refractive and retinal disease and pathology, financial impact to the practice and an awareness of market conditions and competition. The RPS is responsible for frequently communicating with management on all sales activities, ideas, market and competitive activities and must represent CZM in keeping with the highest standards of business ethics, professionalism and customer care. He/She will work with upstream marketing to assist in development of new product specifications. He/She will work with downstream marketing to develop product launch plans and specifications. He/She will work closely with all Regional Sales Managers in the region to uncover leads, perform product demonstrations and enhancing their product knowledge for the new product line. The RPS will report to the Regional Director and communicate ideas to enhance products, marketing ideas and tactics and suggestions to improve the overall business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Maintain currency of, and adhere to applicable GMP and ISO 9001 processes and procedures. Abide by state and federal employment laws.Attain or exceed yearly new product revenue, profit and product mix quotas for region of responsibility.Make scheduled personalized sales demonstrations to thought-leaders in region of responsibility.Work frequently with Regional Sales Managers to review opportunities, schedule demonstrations and help close business for their specific new product line.Communicate with the RSM and RD on a daily basis.Communicate with marketing on a regular basis. Become the regional "product champion" and technical expert for new products within their product line.Maintain, analyze and utilize territory records, contact management software and other information to efficiently organize, plan, execute and measure results.Educate and follow-up with thought leaders on the operation, utilization and application of our product to insure overall customer satisfaction.Provide timely, accurate and constructive written and oral communications to management regarding expected sales planned monthly activity. Operates a specific cost center (business) to control expenses. Assists the RSM and RD to manage new product demonstration inventory and select sites for unit placements. Work with marketing team on a quarterly basis to discuss new product specifications and related issues. Evaluate and certify reps within the region on their capability to take over responsibility for the new product line. Assist the training department in developing training programs for new products.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and implement creative and profitable tactical marketing approaches to the individual demands of the representatives region.All paperwork and other requested information should be furnished in a complete and timely manner.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Communicate with Customers and CZM staff.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

RPS are required to make daily visits to ophthalmology and optometry practices, clinics teaching institutions and hospitals that utilize our products. Significant time will be spent driving and flying to office sites. Home office visits will be required on a quarterly basis. Overnight travel will average three nights per week plus multiple weekend conventions.

REQUIREMENTS:Four-year college degree or equivalent.Three to five years of CZMI or related sales experience.High level of technical and clinical knowledge within the ophthalmology and optometry field.Aggressive desire and attitude to learn all aspects of the job and achieve stated goals.Ability to manage multiple tasks and issues.Strong organizational and communication skills with peers, customer personnel and physicians.Exceptional teaching and diplomacy skills.Computer literacy in standard business software such as word processing, spreadsheet and presentations.Develop expertise in product application and practice management implications.Develop expertise in networking and connectivity as it relates to specific product lines.Safely operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid motor vehicle license.

SPECIAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, listen and use hand tools, objects or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with their hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 85 pounds. 50% or more of time is spent traveling.
