Job Overview:  Investigate and resolve insurance pending claims.  Examine patient accounts and make necessary adjustments and recommendations.  Contact insurance companies regarding denied claims and answer patient’s questions regarding statements and insurance coverage.  The applicant must have a prior knowledge of electronic claims submission and ICD9 coding.  Employee will be responsible for all Medicare billing while following all CMS and HIPPA guidelines.  Due to the nature of this position confidentiality is essential.  Employee must have ability to work independently and efficiently.





Job Responsibilities: Prior knowledge of medical claim filing process Knowledge of ICD9 & CPT coding Investigate and resolve insurance pending claims Regenerate pending insurance claims for settlement Make necessary adjustments and recommendations for account settlement Communicates with insurance companies and patients in the effort to resolve unpaid claims Patient service representative:  answers patient’s questions regarding statements and insurance coverage Follow policy relating to insurance collection efforts Take insurance information from patients, home medical equipment companies & physician offices that is needed in refiling claims
