Merit develops, manufactures and markets single-use medical devices primarily for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular and vascular disease. Merit has been successful in introducing and marketing innovative, high-quality products through its expertise in new product design and its capabilities in injection and insert molding of plastics; the application of its proprietary electronic and sensor-based technologies; and wire, extrusion and catheter technologies. The Company is utilizing its competitive advantages and technologies to develop and offer products that address a wide range of needs related to cardiology and radiology procedures performed in hospitals. Sales are made primarily to U.S. hospitals through a direct sales force. The Company markets its products in over 60 countries worldwide, utilizing a direct sales force in Europe, and distributors for the remainder of the world.SUMMARY OF DUTIESResponsible for the ongoing development, implementation, coordination, maintenance and overall strategy of the Company’s internal and external websites.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED• Responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, coordination, maintenance and overall strategy of the Company’s internal and external websites.• Ensures website accuracy on a timely basis.• Establishes policies and procedures pertaining to website management, security, maintenance and utilization.• Monitors overall site performance and implements improvements.• Develops long-range website plans.• Advises managers on website concepts and functional capabilities.• Communicates status of projects to management.• Recommend systems changes to appropriate personnel.• Requests, reviews, and controls content of the website(s).• Works with multiple departments to manage updates and enhancements to the site.• Works with internal and/or external counsel to ensure that clearance, approval, and authorization issues are resolved before displaying content on the site.• Maintains registration of domain names.• Performs supervisory assignments for the department such as interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, training, and work review/scheduling.• Performs a variety of other related work, as required.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS• Lifting – Not to exceed 50 lbs. – local practice may apply.• Writing• Sitting• Standing• Bending• Vision• Color perception• Depth perception• Reading• Field of vision/peripheral• Fine motor skills SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field required.• A minimum of seven years of technical experience in website administration and/or development, with three of those years in a management role.• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.• Excellent technical writing skills.• Ability to create and compose written materials.• Excellent proofreading and editing skills.• Understanding of internet operations, functionality and a wide range of internet programming and design tools.• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, from subordinates to senior staff.• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and excellent time/project management skills.• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.• Ability to make responsible judgment calls and to deal with deadlines and changes.COMPETENCIES• Website development/implementation/coordination/maintenance/review• Computer skills• Technical writing skills• Personnel supervisory process/performance appraisal/hiring/discipline/training• Project managementCOMMENTSInfectious Control Risk Category II:The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs.
