The Client Engineering Manager position provides management direction and leadership to team members located globally.
This person is responsible for developing a client engineering strategy to identify and exploit technology opportunities that cost-effectively gain efficiencies, increase performance and improve reliability, in alignment with overall business objectives.
As well, they will support and drive a customer care philosophy that ensures customer satisfaction and follow up with assigned personnel, to ensure timely resolution of issues.
The ability to work and coordinate projects between internal departments and manage strategic planning is required.
Strong relationships with GIS departments and key customers are crucial to success.
Required Skills
Management Skills: The job holder must be able to manage a global, multi-cultural, virtual team of experienced technical staff.
His/her direct reports and staff will be responsible for delivering high quality, on budget, within schedule technology enabled business solutions as part of a global shared service.
Communication & Influencing: The job holder must clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
An individual with excellent interpersonal skills and influencing ability who can win the confidence of individuals at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization.
Teamwork: An individual who can work effectively in a collaborative environment and foster teamwork with their peer group, their local & virtual team colleagues and with employees outside of the GIS function.
Technical Expertise: The job holder must have a background in successful information technology systems development, systems management, project management and solution delivery.
Business Acumen: The job holder should possess strong analytical and process management skills and have a broad understanding of group business strategy and operations.
He/she must be able to clearly articulate the business value proposition for all IS enabled business solution initiatives considered by the Investment Management process.
Required Experience
- Degree or qualification in an IT related discipline or equivalent technical and business experience.
- Project management experience with a strong focus on delivery.
- IS managerial experience; with specific experience in Client Engineering processes and managing remote team members.
- Solid background in Client Engineering strategy and global implementations.
- Good understanding of managing and monitoring Service Level Agreements with customers and suppliers.
- Excellent customer service, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication (written & oral) skills.
- Experience of cross functional working and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to motivate others to perform above normal expectations.
- Ability to manage multiple issues at one time with exceptional follow through.
- ITIL Foundation certified required. ITIL Service Desk certification preferred.
