Job Description Embedded System Engineer Embedded System Engineer Job Duties:Molecular and Microanalysis operation in Madison, WI is part of Scientific Instrument Division (SID) of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. We develop and market Infra-Red (FT-IR) and Ultra-violet (UV-Vis) spectrometers, as well as surface analysis tool for microstructures.The position is part of multi-discipline R&D organization that designs and develops high precision opto-mechanical instruments. The position would…• Plan, design, implement, test, and release real-time embedded system firmware, as well as device drivers in PC. • Design and develop diagnostic tools for current and future embedded systems. • Maintenance of existing firmware and diagnosis utilities. • Interface to electrical, mechanical, optical, and system engineers in a product development cycle. • Research and development of other embedded systems.Qualification:• Minimum BS degree in EE, CE, or CS • Experience in 32-bit microprocessor/microcontroller. DSP experience is a plus. Experience in SDRAM, FLASH, FPGA, and VHDL. • Experience in real-time embedded control and data acquisition systems, and familiar at least one RTOS. • Programming experience in C/C++, assembly languages. .net platform and low-level Windows Device Driver experience is a plus.
