Diabetes Nurse Educator

Do you love the clinical side of nursing but also love providing education and training and want to combine the two for a perfect job?  If you are a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian with a minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience, this could be for you!  The client offers the opportunity to utilize your experience and enjoy a fast-paced environment in the exciting career you have been looking for!    This position located just minutes north of Plano will perform the duties of a Diabetes Nurse Educator, primarily providing education and training for people with diabetes and the staff that works with them. Duties involved include: Providing quality diabetes education with an emphasis on patient safety Instructs in-services for hospital staff Participates in health promotion/education and community involvment. Participates on unit and/or hospital committees, special projects and attendance at staff meetings and town halls. To be considered, you must have the following:  Be a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian with current license in good standing Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred CDE preferred but not required At least 2 years healthcare experience, preferably in an acute care setting. Previous instruction experience a plus Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
