Division: Global Headquarters (Corporate) Location: Austin, TX 78746 Status: Full Time, Employee, Intern Job Category: IT/Software Development Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Education Level: Vocational Company:St. Jude Medical Desktop Technical Analyst - AV The Audio Visual Desktop Technical Analyst position provides direct AV and desktop related technical support for local and remote site (internal) customers.  This is a high visible position involving senior personnel supporting the training facility.  This position will assess business needs, recommend solutions, troubleshoot and work to resolve business needs. This position will also assist, as needed, with desktop related troubleshooting for the main Austin building. Essential Functions:· Provide excellent customer service for all audio/visual events. · Ensure successful user experience with audio/visual events and equipment. · Adhere to foundation policy and standards when meeting user requirements for audio/visual events.· Responsible for installation of audio/visual systems for corporate/organizational meetings, presentations and seminars which include various multi-media applications. · Daily preparation of audio/visual and video conferencing facilities (including dedicated rooms and mobile equipment) for scheduled events.· Initial ‘on the scene’ response for audio/visual and video conferencing troubleshooting issues. · Escalate audio/visual issues as appropriate for third line support and to ensure management awareness.· Perform regular maintenance checks on all video conference and audio/visual equipment. · Perform metrics reporting as necessary for audio/visual events. · Perform asset management duties and maintain up-to-date inventory of all audio/visual equipment, including product life cycling under direction from Audio/Visual Coordinator.· Primary consultant for site-based customers regarding the use of standard desktop platforms and software.· Monitors and responds to complex technical hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of tools and techniques.· Prepares specifications for the purchase of hardware and software for site-based needed.  Effectively completes tasks associated to hardware, peripheral and software installations and upgrades.  · Coordinates the installation and maintenance of computer hardware, peripherals and software components including design, development, analysis, and testing.· Assist in evaluating new requirements and recommend new processes and standards as appropriate.· Assist in defining standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics.· Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of rotating team coverage. Qualifications:    · At least two years of direct work related experience with the various audio/visual, video conference, and unified collaboration solutions and technologies.· Qualified candidates must have a strong dedication to quality customer service including the ability to troubleshoot complex technical problem under pressure. · Well versed in audio/visual and video conference principles and how they relate to an IT environment.· Vocational / Associate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (2+ year experience). Relevant certification (A+ Cert, MCSE) preferred.· 2+ years of technical experience in computer maintenance and repair, including at least 1 year or more of direct customer support.· Demonstrated understanding of Windows 2000 / XP / Vista, networking/distributed computing environment concepts; knowledge of and experience with principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts.· Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation, and organizational skills; the ability to meet deadlines/work independently.  · Must be adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner and meeting assigned deadlines.· Ability to travel nationally, up to 10%. Qualified candidates may apply online via our website at www.sjm.com and reference position # Corp 08083 or apply directly via the link below.  No agencies or phone calls, please. Apply Now!
