AUTOMATION ENGINEER

My client, a manufacturer, located in the vicinity of Tyler Texas, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer.  This individual will be responsible for automating manufacturing processes as well as recommending and implementing solutions that will improve throughput, quality and cost.

Responsibilities:Perform feasibility studies and and identify areas for automation Define, design, and develop flexible automation concepts and bring concepts to successful completion Select automation components and and interface devices Evaluate and select automation suppliers and interfaces with suppliers, design and quality groups in resolving technical/design issues Diagnose technical issues and develop and implement corrective actions Documentation support to engineer change control procedures Write and execute equipment and software validations per FDA guidelines Revise manufacturing procedures and drawing to improves processes and maintain compliance to QSR policies



Requirements:BS Mechanical Engineering 7+ years experience in a Lean manufacturing environment of which 2 years must be from a medical device environment 5 years experience in automation Sound knowledge of automation controls, linear actuators, drives, motors, timers, and sensors Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban and demand flow 3+ years in leading automation projects and developing capital justification Sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical controls interfaces Good understanding of PLC controls Knowledge of FDA guidelines
