Safety Coordinator

We are currently looking for an individual to work as the Safety Coordinator for our Marine Company.  This individual will maintain and recommend safety policies and training.

 

This person will be responsible for preparing safety plans and manuals for ongoing operations at all company work sites, complete on site safety audits and reports, track all safety training, personal injury and accident reports.  This person will also be the on site trainer for OSHA required training and other safety training to all field employees as required.

 

Assists sites with implementation and training of safety procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations.

 

Assists management in investigating incidents, developing and implementing corrective and preventative actions.  Follows up with management to ensure completion of action items and correction of deficiency.

 

Tracks and analyzes safety performance data.

 

Job Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health and 2-4 years related experience or equivalent combination.

 

Experience in safety audits both external (regulatory agencies) and internal

 

Ability to work flexible hours - travel is required as is a valid drivers license

 

OSHA certifications

 

Outstanding organization skills and someone who is comfortable working with minimal supervision
