Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Marketing/CMO, the Product Manager will be responsible for bringing overall business leadership, strategic vision and marketing discipline to the company’s overall product portfolio.
The Product Manager is responsible for developing marketing strategies and marketing plans, overseeing pricing and market research, and coordinating new product implementation, product launch and product evaluation.
Responsibilities include the following:
• Overall development of product roadmap strategies and marketing plans for Generac product lines.
• Monitor and analyze competitive products and services, market trends, and customer requirements.
• Understand, identify and analyze customer needs and priorities via primary/secondary research, feedback from sales and marketing and direct interaction with customers.
• Identify customer demand for new products / services; work in concert with manufacturing to bring the products to Generac in the most cost effective manner.
• Become a marketing and product / content expert in each product category. Work with sales managers and customers as necessary.
• Help set budgets for sales and margin growth.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product management and/or engineering.
• Solid understanding of market planning and development, forecasting, financial analysis/budgeting and overall marketing management.
• Knowledge and experience with new product development and introduction processes are essential.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, an absolute must.
• Ability to thrive under pressure, enjoy a fast-paced environment, have great people skills and a can-do attitude.
