Job Description (Key duties and responsibilities of the position. Include scope of supervision, budgeted revenue and investment, geography, customers, routes, etc.): General Summary The Recycle America Market Area Director, Operations is responsible for continually focusing on achieving market base profitability through revenue generation, cost control, customer satisfaction and management development, while maintaining the integrity of Waste Management Recycle America. Essential Functions Comply and ensure adherence to Waste Management Recycle America 's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations. Play a pivotal role in the sales efforts of each facility within the assigned MAs, including meeting current and potential customers and attending customer/city sponsored events as appropriate. Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion. Review monthly financial results with each Market Area District Manager and MRF Manager. Conduct quarterly all-managers meetings for assigned MAs. Ensure that each facility consistently follows Waste Management Recycle America procedure and continues to work toward achievement of SBF Goals. Oversee and assist with budget process as required. Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment which focuses on the customer, through employee development and motivation. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property of each facility through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with MA District Managers and MRF Managers. Oversee the forecasting of the MA's financial position monthly. Utilizing the PDS system, develop MA District Managers and MRF Managers for future advancement through training and one-on-one coaching. Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline MA District Managers and MRF Managers according to Waste Management Recycle America procedures, and ensure that managers are in compliance to the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps. Prepare and conduct all MA District Management and MRF Manager level candidate interviews, and follow hiring procedures according to Waste Management Recycle America hiring policies. Ensure that all MA District Managers and MRF Managers are in compliance with the standards in their interviewing and hiring procedures. Interview all prospective final candidates for any vacant management position within the Recycle America Market Areas prior to any offer being extended. Other special projects as assigned Minimum Requirements Education And Experience A minimum of 12 years of related progressive management experience in recycling, waste or transportation or related field; or a 4-year college degree and/or an advanced degree and a minimum of 8 years of related progressive management experience; or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 10 years of related progressive management experience Licenses Or Certificates None To Apply for this position, please CLICK HERE
