Design Engineer Electrical- L04
MAJOR PURPOSE OF POSITION
Position in a engineering new product group that will incorporate innovative, leading edge technology in the development of new product lines. Assist engineers in product development and design activities.
JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Create simple electrical and component designs which are functional, reliable, and cost effective by utilizing established design criteria and design expertise with supervision from Project leader and including one or all of the following tasks.
A.) Perform necessary calculations to insure acceptable product performance and life.
B.) Suggest, where necessary complex electronic circuitry to provide proper variable speed control of each product motion. Where such circuitry is developed by a supplier assist in providing an evaluation report that is intended to point out strengths and weaknesses of the design.
C.) Assist in computer modeling and/or simulate product performance.
D.) Assist in writing microprocessor code to insure proper product performance.
E.) Assist in the development of programmable - controller programs or relay logic to provide system interlocking and protective circuitry for assigned products.
F.) Generate schematic diagrams, component specifications, testing specification and troubleshooting methods for the product electrical system.
2. Perform dimensional, standards, and basic functional design checking of completed detail drawings, weldments and general arrangements to assure completeness, accuracy, and conformance.
3. Guide drafters, layout drafters, and designers by establishing work requirements, providing training guidance, and conducting daily review of work activity.
4. Aid the overall effort toward sales and customer satisfaction by participating in field and shop problems and implementing product maintenance changes.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Science, Electrical Engineering required. This is an entry level position.
