Senior Systems Engineer

We are looking for a tier 3 operations engineer to work with a team on our Replication, DSL and Transfer services.   

 

Job responsibilities include:

 

· Develop, validate and execute on implementation plans to include adherence to formal change management process

· Deploy infrastructure for new environments

· Document TroubleShooting Guides (TSGs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training to Tier 2

· Drive open cases to root cause resolution with respective support teams from 3rd party vendors

· Resolve production outages escalated from Tier 2 to include customer communications and subsequent root cause analysis

 

Qualifications:

 

· Work is primarily during business hours but must be available for 24x7 support to include weekends and holidays

· Must have proven experience filling a senior Tier 3 operational role in enterprise production environment

· Excellent knowledge and experience managing Windows 2003/2008 servers (MCSE preferred)

· Strong understanding of networking, specifically TCP/IP and data transfer between Windows hosts; networking infrastructure experience not required

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong project tracking skills and ability to implement large change in complex production environments on time with little or no user impact

· Strong scripting skills in VBS and/or Powershell highly preferred

· Experience architecting, deploying and managing Computer Associates WANSync CD highly preferred; same with EMC Replistor also a plus

· Strong understanding of Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS) a plus

· Experience building MOM Maintenance Packs and managing monitoring using MOM 2005 and SCOM 2007 highly preferred
