Senior Instructional Systems Designer

ICF International seeks a senior-level Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to join our Human Capital Solutions practice. This full-time position is based at the client site in Quantico Va., and our headquarters in Fairfax, Va.
The ISD professional must be able to demonstrate expertise in designing and developing a range of instructional materials including classroom-based training, e-learning, job aids/references, scenario case studies, on-the-job training, and evaluations. Using creative skills and project discipline the ISD will be involved in the full life-cycle of instructional design activities focused on creating interactive and engaging ways to communicate specific knowledge and skills. The ISD will be responsible for developing a core training curriculum that focuses on the proficiency requirements and performance expectations of 20 Marine Corps Communities of Interest (COI).
This position requires at least 9 to 11 years of instructional design and experience, expertise across the full ISD life-cycle, and knowledge of the principles of adult learning. Required experience includes: working successfully with technical subject matter to identify critical knowledge, skills and behaviors; working collaboratively with Subject-Matter-Experts (SMEs) to indentify instructional content; and conducting evaluations of both participants learning and program success. Additional requirements include a demonstrated ability in producing project plans, facilitating client meetings, employing a range of communication styles when working with others, utilizing strong verbal and written communications skills, and working well individually and in a client-site team environment.
Position requires a MS/MA Instructional Design, Education or related field. Demonstrated expertise and experience applying analysis to identify gaps in current training curricula, designing competency-based learning objectives, and developing appropriate instructional tools and techniques. Close client contact requires excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a strong consultant presence. Candidates must be experienced and capable of dealing effectively with client personnel at all levels, including senior leadership, have experience leading and participating in collaborative work processes, and have experience in working with the unique conditions and requirements of Federal agencies and the DoD.
