Mechanical Engineer

Foth Production Solutions LLC, a nationally recognized, employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Dunn Loring, VA location. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

¨  Travel to client sites and/or other Foth office locations (approximately %) 



¨  Client presentations – must be experienced and comfortable speaking to an audience

¨  Conduct site surveys to evaluate existing conditions, take measurements and identify conflicts

¨  Design package handling systems using AutoCAD – 50-60% of time will be spent here

¨  Prepare engineering calculations, such as motor horse power

¨  Review project shop drawings and submittals

¨  Prepare construction cost estimates

¨  Inspect and test installed systems

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

¨  BSME, Industrial or related engineering discipline

¨  5+ years Mechanical/Industrial engineering experience in at least one of the following areas: conceptual machine design, conveyor systems, or package handling systems

¨  Previous experience with AutoCAD

¨  Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

¨  7+ years Mechanical/Industrial engineering experience

¨  Previous experience with Inventor, Solid Edge, and/or Microstation

¨  Working knowledge of conveyor systems with experience in system construction estimating, reviewing submittals for compliance, conducting equipment and system testing, and inspecting system installation

¨  Proven ability to lead projects

¨  Previous experience working directly with a client in a consulting environment

¨  Experience with or interest in Custom Machine Design builds and installation along with new packaging handling systems and their integration.
