IT Security Specialist - Mid & Senior Level

SiloSmashers, a management and technology consulting services firm located in Fairfax, Virginia, is looking for experienced, mid- and high-level IT Security Specialist to join our team

Responsibilities:Perform security functions to support the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Review of Security Documents Review of scan results and mitigationsIdentify and communicate concerns, risks and issues with completing objectives, and milestonesAssist in developing a process for tracking various security deliverables.

Senior Role Also:Works as the security team lead on mid-size projects involving security management design and analysis. On large projects, will work as an individual consultant under the direction of a principal consultant or project manager.Analyzes project requirements and develops security requirements appropriate for the risk level of the project.Develops System Security Plan(s), Configuration Management, Risk Assessments, and Contingency Plans to support the Certification and Accreditation process required to obtain Authority to Operate.Develops work breakdown structures and proposes resource requirements for the information security section of the overall project management schedule and plan.Acts as an advisor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to executives and senior managers regarding information security topics and issues.Works as an effective team member on integrated SiloSmashers Client project teams.Mentors less senior team members in information security.

Qualifications: A certification as a CISSP, or other Computer Security Certification. 8+ years experience in accomplishing the following but not limited to:Understand the mechanics of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) and Interconnection Security Agreements (ISA) as they pertain to security and ensure NIST guidance is followed.Knowledgeable of NIST guidelines, Federal Laws and mandates.Knowledgeable of Security Assurance (formerly ST&E) requirements and procedures.
