MarketStar is searching for a SQL Database Administrator to provide database application life cycle support including database design, development, implementation and support in the development and production environments. The candidate will also provide recommendations and solutions on database and application architecture, database integrity, security and availability to the community. DESCRIPTION* Install and manage Database software, and related components to DB administration * Implement and document security for database systems and maintain corporate policy. * Review data stored within database systems and make suggestions for improvement * Monitor database performance, health and resources of the server operations * Highlight issues to appropriate stakeholders, providing possible solutions * Properly implement indexes and other performance based database features * Assist developers in creating and modifying database schemas * Collect and analyze database SQL Server performance data and make recommendations   for improving performance and efficiency * Knowledge of hardware configuration and database design * Review database growth and usage and make appropriate recommendations for future   growth * Plan, implement and administer the backup of all company databases; ensure that   database backups are successful, administer log-shipping processes * Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server Jobs REQUIREMENTSEducation/Certification * Bachelor's degree in Business related field preferred Experience Required * 3+ years SQL Server 2000, 2005, or 2008 experience * 3+ years in database administrator role * Expert T-SQL programming skills * Experience in Analysis Server and Integration Services Knowledge/Skills * Knowledge of .NET programming, in ASP and C# * Comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of the Microsoft BI suite * Understanding of data modeling, database optimization, and relational database schemas * Ability to interpret and write complex SQL queries MarketStar does not discriminate in any aspect of employment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, age, veteran status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local employment discrimination laws where MarketStar does business.
