Please visit our website at www.executiveboard.com for more information. The Research Consultant, CEB Conferences & Events is responsible for designing original, content-driven conferences aimed for the wider human resources community and seeing them through to execution. Consultants plan multi-day events and are responsible for the larger vision, theme and session topics as well as overseeing all of the many logistical details needed to staff and run a successful conference.  Each conference should provide a compelling opportunity to learn about a wider topic, network with peers and develop a deeper appreciation of the CEB brand.  Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Leveraging research and subject-matter expertise to determine a unique theme for each conference designed to optimize attendance and address hot-topic issues in the human resources community Designing the overall agenda, session topics and specific content of each session Working with team to help determine go-to-market strategy Crafting compelling value propositions to enable identification and recruiting of thought leaders, function and industry luminaries and subject-matter experts as speakers and panelists Researching competitor conferences and industry climate Working with the team to approve marketing collateral and website design Determining location, entertainment, and miscellaneous decisions about structures, features and details of the day Internal stakeholder consensus-building Vendor assessment, vendor relations, and vendor management Performing above duties for both functional and non-functional (issue-based) conferencesExceptional facility in gauging key current-day themes that most resonate with a senior human resources audience Ability to master a research terrain and translate awareness of human resource issues into a conference agenda that drives attendance Ability to balance and manage multiple work streams at different stages of development Superior analytical skills and judgment Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively manage, coach, and motivate staff Ability to make a business case and understand the business impact of various aspects relating to a conference Sound understanding of the microeconomics of standing up a new line of business Excellent writing, communications and inter-personal skills Poise and grace under pressure Ability to work independently and with a team Ability to tolerate ambiguity and self-manage against long-term goals Bachelor’s degree required (background in human resources preferred) Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience (preferably in human resources, consulting, or conference planning)
