IT Billing Analyst

Howrey LLP, recently named as a "Best Place to Work" in 2007 and 2008 by The Washington Business Journal, has an exciting opportunity for an IT Billing Analyst. In this position, you will ensure accurate and timely payments of all IT departmental expenditures, and manage the data collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting across these expenditures. The primary focus of this position will be with telecommunications carrier expenses, but will also include other IT expenses such as hardware, software licensing, and maintenance.

As a billing analyst in our technology management services group, you will be responsible for managing the billing processes for all connectivity services, hardware, software licensing and maintenance. The role entails obtaining approval for IT costs within the firm, submitting order forms to various vendors and maintaining an inventory of services. You will be the primary interface with our accounting team to ensure that services are billed according to the negotiated terms of our agreements, resolving any issues or discrepancies that might arise. You will also manage and maintain all active technology contracts and notify appropriate teams within the firm as services approach expiration dates.

You will work with all IT managers on budget issues including the budget formulation and negotiation processes with the business, as well as the overall tracking and spending of all IT expenditures. Utilizing your organizational skills and attention to detail, you will maintain an inventory of all connectivity solutions and associated costs and have the opportunity to impact the process through which those solutions are tracked and evaluated.  In carrying out these responsibilities, you will collaborate with the telecommunications and other technology vendors on status updates on open orders, track orders against contract specifications and work with our administrators to provide them with metrics and statuses that will facilitate vendor evaluations and aid the Information Services team in meeting the needs of our department. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related degree or 8 years business experience.Minimum 3 years experience as a Billing Analyst or similar.Minimum 2 years prior experience with telecommunications billing audit and analysis.Good understanding of telecom contracts, telecom costs (LEC, LD, T1, etc.), and telecom rate/cost analysis.Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills.Successful experience working in a matrixed environment.Experience working directly with internal clients as well as external vendors is required.Proficient in Microsoft Windows XP and MS Office.High degree of initiative with creative problem solving skills.
