Division Order Analyst

Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company seeks Division Order Analyst

• Determine, develop and establish ownership records, based on review and interpretation of title opinions, legal documents, paysheets, or divisions of interest provided by or on behalf of third party producers, in conjunction with crude oil purchase contract information;
• Set up ownership records that will be used for disbursement of proceeds from the sale of crude oil produced from third party operated wells on which OEMI is disbursing such proceeds;
• Maintain divisions of interest by processing changes in ownership based on analysis and interpretation of conveyance documents, probate proceedings and/or other legal documentation;
• Secure proper documentation to complete the chain of title, relative to requests for changes in ownership;
• Resolve any ownership problems in a timely and accurate manner;
• Interact with interest owners, operators, attorneys and industry counterparts through telephone and written communications;
• Issue payment instructions to oil revenue accounting for proper disbursement of proceeds;
• Interface with Revenue Accounting and Marketing Director(s) for any changes to crude oil purchase contract, ownership and/or payment
• Prepare and circulate division and/or transfer orders to mineral interest owners and any needed follow-ups to ensure proper and timely payment;
• Handle state escheat reporting;
• Perform special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Minimum 5 years experience in division orders and division order systems.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and process legal documents related to mineral ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with customers and their inquiries and/or problems.
• Ability to understand and apply department policies and procedures, including audit procedures.
• PC proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel.
• Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate occasional overtime work.

Qualifications:

• Experience with a crude oil purchaser.
• Working knowledge of the laws of descent and distribution for the states in which OEMI is marketing.
• PC proficiency in Access.
• College degree and/or PLM or paralegal certification.
