Founded in 1990, Journey Education Marketing, Inc (JourneyEd.com) is a multi-channel software marketer operating over 15,000 Academic eStores for vendor, bookstore and school partners. JourneyEd is a preferred academic software/hardware marketer for the largest software/hardware companies, including Adobe, Autodesk, Avid, Corel, Google, PTC, SolidWorks and Microsoft.  We are seeking a self-motivated and results-oriented individual to fill an important position within our Web Application Development Department.

 

Job Description - Design, develop, implement and maintain new and existing features for the company’s web sites using Microsoft technologies. Diagnose, enhance and deploy code as required. Collaborate with other team members as well as with business professionals.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently or as a member of a team and must have a proven track record of managing multiple projects at a time, and delivering quality results within very tight deadlines.

 

Web Application Development

Experience with the following is required.Previous experience developing end-user, B2C customer-facing Web applications in a transactional eCommerce environment.Strong .Net C# (NOT .Net VB) Web applications development, with experience converting from ASP Classic/VBScript to .Net C#. Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript experience, including cross-platform/cross-browser GUI interface design and implementation.Strong forms development with both database and email connectivity. MS SQL 2005 database connectivity from ASP applications via ADO.

Other Systems Experience

 

Experience with the following is desired.Experience with Adobe Flash / ActionScript, and the display of dynamic content/eCommerce data within Flash movies.Experience with XML Communications (MSXML2 Object) within ASP and/or .Net applications.

Application Knowledge RequiredMicrosoft Windows Server 2003 / IIS6 Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or higherAdobe Dreamweaver

Applicant WILL be asked to provide examples of previous Web development projects, and should be prepared to do so.
