Software Developer -Test (SDET) Contract

About the Software Development Test Engineer Opportunity

The SDET responsible for designing and implementing tests and test tools around key portions of the InfoSpace Search Engine, Dogpile. Working in small teams (approximately 8 engineers) the SDET will have an opportunity to be creative and affect the process with your ideas and input. The work you will design and implement (predominatly automated tests and testing tools) will directly determine both the success of your team and the future of Dogpile Search.

Essential Job Duties

 Work closely within an Agile environment with other engineers and Program Managers (Scrum Masters) to understand product requirements and validate the software solutions produced by the team.
 Effectively design and implement tests and test related tools.
 File bugs, pursue resolutions and subsequent regressions.
 Write test designs, test cases, and participate in code reviews.
 Own testing of key features and products.
 Interact with developers and understand product design.
 Collaborate with an effective team building tools and test automation that increase team output and product quality.
 Communicate effectively with others.

Required Skills, Education & Experience

* 3+ Years of experience as an SDET and/or developer.
 Strong understanding of one of the following languages: C/C++, Java, or C# and XML (required).
 Ability and experience writing automated test cases using one of the languages listed above - strong white box tester.
 Strong ability to write effective test designs and test cases.
 Strong ability and desire to run manual test cases when required.

Additonal Skills Desired

 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
 Experience using UI Automation tools like WinRunner or Quick Test Pro.
 Experience with load testing using a tool like LoadRunner. (Ability to profile code.)
 Experience with .NET, AJAX, and MS SQL server technologies.
 Experience testing/developing web services.
