The Senior DBA will be an integral part of the production operations team and will focus on ensuring the reliability and scalability of the SQL Server/Oracle databases. In addition to managing and supporting existing databases, the DBA will be responsible for designing, building and implementing new databases.  This will involve working closely with the Database Engineering team to review, and in some cases create, SQL code used in data management processes. 

 

ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure and manage Oracle/SQL Server RDBMSCreate, maintain and implement programs for data conversionsTune database parameters for optimal system performance Participate in architecture discussions and recommend changesMaintain data consistency between different data servers Analyze, recommend and implement process improvements Provide continuous monitoring and troubleshooting of database operating systems

 

Qualifications7+ years relevant experience as a DBA in a Oracle/SQL Server Windows environmentDemonstrated success installing, configuring and managing Oracle/SQL Server database systems for mission critical applications in a complex RAS environment Solid understanding of logical and physical database designAble to tune and troubleshoot database subsystems on a Windows Server platformExpertise in software support of relational databases, 4GL’s and front end toolsObject Oriented programming is a plusAbility to analyze  and resolve complex technical problemsAble to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiencesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS preferred.
