Senior Buyer, Toys Amazon.com is looking for a talented, driven and experienced Sr. Buyer to help grow the Toys business.  The successful candidate will be responsible for category expansion including adding selection, initiating vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, developing promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements.  The Sr. Buyer has category ownership and strives to create a best-in-class customer experience.  The right candidate stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and is able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level to drive unit, revenue and margin growth.  In addition, the Sr. Buyer must be an effective leader and communicator in working with Amazon.com partners and vendors, as well as with internal groups such as operations, website, PR, retail systems, and process improvementThe ideal candidate has strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management.  Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills are musts.  The Sr. Buyer is an effective leader and communicator and a seasoned problem-solver.  5+ years of relevant experience in retail or e-commerce desired Buying/planning, operations, or finance background Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven negotiating skills, influencing abilities and vendor management experience Strong numerical and analytical aptitude Proven experience leading cross-functional projects Proactive attitude Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines Detail-oriented Technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools Toy industry knowledge and experience a plus
