Primary Responsibilities:

 

· Identifying the gap and need for the system

· Evaluating all competitors in the field

· Testing systems in a lab environment prior to purchase

· Working with all the necessary groups at vender site to make sure that an implementation plan is in place that best benefits the entire company

· Documentation of the entire set up of the system

· Ongoing troubleshooting, upgrades, hardware refresh, network and security audits, and education about the system to the company and to an appropriate back up

· Engineer will have the flexibility to architect and develop solutions while collaborating with other  Engineers to ensure systems fit into the overall architecture.

· Involvement in all Beta programs associated with systems

 

 Requirements:

 

· Minimum of 5 years experience hands-on management of scalable rich media, social networking, ecommerce and advertising driven networks.

· Ability to Manage/Coordinate Vendors (including hosting, monitoring, CDN and outside consulting teams).

· Network Security/Redundancy/Recovery Processes and Tools.

· Familiar with RHEL, Linux Apache web server environment and creating XHTML for use with online scripting environments, such as jQuery, PHP & Smarty Templates.

·  High level knowledge of clustering technologies and virtualization.

·  High level understanding of SAN, Server Hardware, Networking, and Back Ups, NFS, SCP, PHP and Memcache.

·  Mid level understanding of Database design and function with MY SQL pReduce/Hadoop/Flat file system implementations.

·  Mid level experience with scripting and clustered database configurations.

· Demonstrated technical troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

·  Strong written and verbal skills
