The candidate should be a flexible, highly independent worker as well as an excellent team player, and able to work efficiently under schedule deadlines. This position reports to a Senior Operations manager.

ResponsibilitiesBi-weekly on-call support and application monitoring Product documentation Manage several database, application and tracking servers Support and maintain all applications, configurations, and customer data imports/exports Technical support for account managers Application testing and deployment Assist Account Managers in creating one-off SQL queries to report on system usage and identify common queries that should be added to the product.

 


Requirements3+ years experience administering Linux/Unix systems 1+ years of database administration (MySQL, MSSQL) Hands-on experience running and maintaining Apache, BIND, Tomcat, and other server applications Experience with system monitoring (SNMP, MGRT, Zenoss or Cacti) 1+ years experience with source code management (CVS, SVN or GIT) 1+ years experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, BASH or Ruby) Good understanding of Internet protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, MIME, & DHCP Experience with API's and Web Services Strong ability to troubleshoot problems Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team setting


Beneficial Experience

Familiarity with message brokers (ActiveMQ, AmazonSQS) Experience with SAN/iSCSI Experience with backup solutions (Bacula, home-brew) Familiarity with application servers (JBoss, GlassFish or WebSphere)
