Product Manager

We are currently seeking a Product Manager to manage an assigned portfolio of personal lines products.

This position offers a great opportunity for a highly analytical contributor with superior strategic, analytical and leadership skills, to make significant contributions through product design and implementation. The Product Manager will also have considerable visibility with our senior management and executives through leadership of high-profile product initiatives.

 

Responsibilities: Manage the profitability and growth of one or more personal lines productsCreate and communicate short and long term strategic and financial plans for assigned lines of businessWork with analytical staff to revise ratesDevelop product strategy, gain support from the business, and implement product initiatives. Develop assigned product lines to meet market needs and achieve corporate project and growth goalsCommunicate and collaborate effectively with all functional areasAnalyze business problems, develop action plans and implement product changesRegularly obtain input from internal and external sources. Some travel is required, most of it localComply with applicable statutes and regulationsPresent ideas and actions plans to various groupsConduct or lead pricing, market and competitive analysesInitiate and maintain productive relationships with internal and external business partners Coach department, actuarial staff and business partners

Qualifications:Four (4) years of experience in a position requiring advanced analytical and problem-solving skills required; experience in the insurance industry preferred Three (3) years of experience pricing insurance products or similar experience required MBA or advanced degree, or BS in math, statistics, economics, engineering, or similar discipline with analytical work experience preferred. Statistical modeling skills preferred Strong data skills are preferred, including SAS, the ability to write SQL queries, work with large data sets, and use query tools such as BRIO or Business Objects. Must be a competent Excel user.Strong decision-making skills are required. This position does not stop with analysis; the Product Manager must be able to use information gained from various sources to make decisions and move the business forward to reach its goals.Leadership and people skills are also critical for this position. The successful Product Manager must be able to lead teams to achieve business objectives, and clearly communicate with all areas of the organization.Prior product management experience in the property/casualty industry is preferred.CPCU is a plus
