Licensing Specialist

Job Summary: Responsible for administering and maintaining licensing compliance for the organization & its' business partners. Consults with insurance, compliance and legal group regarding requirements of individual state laws and monitors the day to day work of the licensing group. Essential Job Functions (other duties may be assigned): Provide reports and other documentation to assist in the analysis of the department and overall business Data entry and processing of new agents and maintenance of existing agents selling travel insurance Enter new agencies into database, following established procedures Process and maintain records for proper licensing for agencies/individual agents through appropriate states and create check request for licensing fees Process and maintain records for appointment to the underwriter for agencies/ individual agents Update agency records with status changes Oversee agency status; Follow up with agencies in pending status, research status requests from field reps by contacting states and appointment vendor Reconcile monthly vendor invoice and create check request Minimum Qualifications:Associate’s Degree or equivalent licensing experience preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in a licensing environment where state regulations apply preferred. Property and Casualty license preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Professional demeanor with a client/customer focused orientation Flexibility: ability to adapt to and work in a fast-paced, customer focused environment Possess a willingness and desire to collaborate with others throughout the organization Ability to demonstrate high sense of urgency and care in responding customer needs Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to work on several projects simultaneously while maintaining high level of accuracy. Ability to review and comprehend regulatory and licensing paperwork Knowledge of state licensing boards and various requirements Ability to train and enhance the performance of others Knowledge of state licensing procedures Ability to understand relationships between licensing requirements and other components of the insurance business. Analytical and problem solving abilities Superior communication skills: verbal and written Interpersonal skills Ability to work with all levels in an organization and communicate effectively with them Ability to take initiative and be accountable for work Superior organizational skills Ability to resolve issues independently Strong math skills Strong attention to detail PC Skills- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job.
