Information Security Engineer

PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company seeks a proactive Information Security Engineer to: set and enforce systems security baselines; evaluate and respond to network threats and vulnerabilities; and manage risks during the implementation of new systems.

Responsibilities:Monitor and troubleshoot our computer networks using configuration checking tools (nCircle's CCM and IP360) and web application scanning tools (IBM's AppScan)Support day-to-day security program administration by performing regular tasks according to written work instructions, as well as ad-hoc tasks, as neededSelect security controls in a project context by working with our Information Security Delivery Team, as well as business and technology analysts, to identify and mange risks to computers and dataCoordinate implementation and validation of computer system controls with PEMCO Insurance personnel, customers, and outside vendors by using solutions-oriented planning and communications skills

 

Qualifications:Associates degree, or better, in a science or technology-related field, preferredDesire 3 years (or more) of experience working with a combination of information processing products and technologies, including Cisco IOS, Microsoft Windows 2000/2003, Active Directory/Group Policy, configuration checking tools (such as nCircle's CCM and IP360) and web application scanning tools (such as IBM's AppScan), SPI/proxy firewalls, and CA Top SecretKnowledge of information security principles and practicesDemonstrated capability to work in a matrix organization as a member of multiple teams towards project-specific goalsStrong communications skills, both written and oral (writing sample required)Customer focus and responsive to business stakeholder needsMust have proven track record of setting and meeting goals and making timely and effective decisionsMust exhibit independent judgment and problem-solving skillsOutcome focused approach to work Ability to produce accurate and timely resultsStrong PC skills, especially using Microsoft Office Suite, including VisioKnowledge of the insurance industry a plus
