IT Business Partner

PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company is looking for an experienced IT Business Partner to join our team. These positions will provide clear, aligned technology support to the Accounting or Product Management department within PMIC. These positions will facilitate and coordinate activity and communication between business and IT.

Responsibilities:

Become a key partner in their supported business area and IT

Single point of personal IT contact for their business partner(s) for technology needs

Serve as the primary channel for communications between IT and Business

Develop and actively maintain a current business operations understanding and communicate/translate between business and IT

Holistically understand/communicate on projects and initiatives at a local and enterprise level

Maintain an enterprise perspective on solutions and take advantage/leverage enterprise solutions already in place (or being considered)

Participate in Business Simplification engagements as they relate to your supported business partner

Keep current on other industry tools solutions (external, being considered internal or with Research)

Cultivate and actively maintain relationships with industry peer groups to understand how other carriers are addressing business needs

Partner to remove barriers (cultural, political, other), and/or existing limitations to achieving results

Not a silent partner - always represent your business partner and IT

 

Qualifications:

8 or more years of experience, with 4 to 8 years in Technology/Business collaboration role (Project Manager or Account Manager)

BA Degree or equivalent experience required

Deep understanding of how technology is applied to business processes and metrics

Must be able to establish direction, work independently, and guide teams

Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance industry preferred

Technology related:

Knowledge of emerging technologies

Understanding of enterprise's current IT capabilities and its technical strengths and weaknesses

Business related:

Knowledge of personal lines property and casualty industry

Familiarity with enterprise business processes

Understanding of corporate culture

Ability to convey technical information to business people in their own terms

Ability to see how emerging technologies will impact the business.
