In particular they will support the reporting, and analytical needs of our loyalty and customer retention strategies, as well as help develop our understanding of all marketing channel effectiveness and efficiency. The insights discovered through these studies will drive future strategies in support of marketing programs for segmentation, acquisition, cross-sell, and retention.The successful candidate must be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment. This individual must also work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines within short time constraints. The role will provide decision support and forward looking business planning, ongoing information analysis, competitive and industry trend analysis, business metrics analysis, and business performance measurement. JOB DESCRIPTION:• Prepare internal and external data for analysis. • Develop predictive and descriptive models, independently or under supervision. • Support Marketing leadership in developing insight and executing against marketing and communications plans• Develop a deep understanding of the industry, the market, and Expedia’s value proposition for travelers and suppliers• Compile and interpret industry, market & competitive data. Broadly communicate learning to evolve future strategy and guide day-to-day execution.REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelors degree required, MBA a plus• 5+ years business experience in an analytical role, 2+ years experience in database management, direct marketing and/or marketing strategy• Solid interpersonal skills with experience working in a team environment and communicating with senior managers and executives. Excellent verbal and written communication• Proven track record defining and executing key analyses and developing specific solutions with minimal supervision• Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and demonstrated experience in modeling, analysis, research and presentation creation• Working knowledge of various data analysis and reporting tools preferred (e.g. Business Objects or similar business intelligence tools)• Working knowledge of SQL (with basic SAS and SPSS a strong bonus, or other tools as appropriate). Ability to conduct data mining and modeling operations• Self motivated and a high degree of intellectual curiosity• Demonstrated organizational skills & ability to multi-task well in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities• Previous experience in the e-commerce and/or travel/hospitality domain preferredEXPEDIA RECRUITER: Scott Corrigan.
