Speech Language Pathologist
The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates patient’s communication, cognition and swallowing abilities and plans, organizes, coordinates, and administers goal-directed, activity oriented treatment exercising professional judgment, knowledge, and skills in managing treatment plans for the purpose of promoting/restoring optimum independence in daily life tasks, and the achievement of maximum communication potential. The Speech Language Pathologist ensures continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family, support system and home program, if applicable. The Speech Language Pathologist supervises/provides speech therapy services to patients ranging in age from 14 to 100+ in inpatient and/or outpatient environments. The Speech Language Pathologist supervises supportive personnel and actively participates in departmental activities and processes.
