Being responsible for management of employees in the areas which includes the selection, training, motivation, and development of staff. Prepares performance appraisals and recommends salary adjustments.
Being responsible for preparing and operating within the annual capital and operating budgets.
Developing and directing implementation of standards and systems to enhance quality, consistency, efficiency, and timeliness of responsibilities in the Metro Region, working with Information Services to deploy appropriate computerized access systems.
Maintaining proficiency and assures compliance with JCAHO and any federal or state insurance rules or regulations.
Working closely with auxiliary medical areas for the referral of patients and coordination of services. Being responsible for procedures to ensure that patients needing to go to more than one area or receive services across Sites can be accommodated in an effective customer service manner.
Being responsible for documenting, revising, and establishing departments policies and procedures across Patient Access Service areas within the Metro Region.
Serving as "Expert" in efficient utilization of Admission, Discharge Transfer System and USA Scheduling System and in the effective coordination with other systems: medical records, Emtek, dietary, pharmacy, Medipac, Sunquest, TSI, etc.
Directing organizational planning, systems modification, and space utilization, providing service approach for patients and family from point of contact through pre-authorization and benefit verification, discharge, and charging. Utilizing feedback and needs assessment tools to understand customer expectations. Striving to provide services to customers that exceed expectations and works to eliminate barriers to good service.
General Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Administration, Management Information Systems strongly preferred, or significant experience in the management of the admitting process.
National certification as Healthcare Access Manager preferred (CHAM).
Seven years of experience in increasingly responsible management role that includes centralized scheduling environment and significant exposure to acute and ambulatory settings.
Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in diplomacy.
Ability to travel between Sites within the Metro Region result in exposure to road and weather hazards.
Successful background in dealing with human resource management issues.
