Pool Speech Therapist-Outpatient

Job Description Imagine yourself working with a multi disciplinary team consisting of other Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical and Occupational Therapist Assistants, and other professional medical and office staff. Imagine working with a team that is the perfect size to provide the resources and support you need, while giving you the ability to build relationships with your patients.

At our Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center-Outpatient department, we offer a supportive leadership team and collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to share their unique talents and ideas. This position treats in an Outpatient setting and provides evaluation and treatment to video fluoroscopy, stroboscopy, communication and cognitive evaluation and treatment, voice disorders and pediatric population. Experience is required working with the laryngectomy patient population. Our clinicians are highly skilled and work collaboratively in an environment that fosters growth.

Imagine yourself -

Evaluating and treating patients with various speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders under the prescription of a physician.

Participating in performance improvement activities designed to identify and resolve problems affecting patient care outcome and to improve quality of care.

Planning for and completing patient discharge including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services and ordering equipment.

Completing all required documentation following department policy, including patient progress notes, team conference reports, and discharge summaries as appropriate, to record patient care and progress of each patient assigned as well as daily statistics, billing, and scheduling.

Communicating verbally and in writing with peers, patients, families, physicians, case manager, and all other personnel.

General Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.

Must maintain current licensure in the State of Wisconsin to practice Speech/Language Pathology.

Excellent human relations, organization, problem solving, and decision-making skills are essential.

Must obtain CPR certification within three months of hire.

Desired Qualifications
Prefer clinician who is experienced with vidoe fluoroscopy, stroboscopy, communication and cognition evaluation and treatment, voice disorders and the pediatric population. Experience required working the the laryngectomy population and the patient maintained and in-dwelling prostheses.
