OCCUPATIONAL HLTH STAFF RN - PART TIME, OPT

The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for provision of services related to the functions of the Occupational Health Department.

Performs ongoing Occupational Health Department duties as they pertain to Froedtert Hospital Staff, which include:

Scheduling and assisting with pre-placement health evaluations.
Providing screening for communicable disease exposures.
Scheduling and performing periodic health evaluations and screenings.
Administration of immunizations.
Administration of TB skin tests.
Administration of single dose, non prescription medication.
Follow-up of abnormal x-ray or laboratory findings.
Follow-up investigation, evaluation, and prevention training for work-related illnesses, injuries, and exposures.
Referral of major or minor non-work related injuries and/or illnesses to appropriate treatment source.
Referral of major, work-related, injuries to; the Occupational Health Physician, Personal Physician, or Froedtert Emergency Room.
Administration of first aid for minor work-related injuries.
Maintenance of confidential medical records.

REQUIREMENTS:
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.

Prior experience in Occupational Health, Public Health, and/or Infectious Diseases. Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal skills, in order to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, coworkers, outside agencies, managers, and administration.
Well developed analytical problem solving skills in order to formulate treatment plans.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of computers and entry skills.
Knowledge of teaching tools to assist with educational programs.
Motivated, self directed.
