Identifying, investigating and prioritizing internal programmatic opportunities for grant development in strategic Aurora initiatives (such as Care Management, Cardiology, Women's Health, etc.).
Planning and writing foundation and government grants for identified specific funding sources. Developing program, operational and research design, work plans, grant evaluation plans and budgets. Coordinating proposal materials including narrative, letters of support and required documentation.
In conjunction with the Director of Grant Development, physician and staff leadership, completing program audit and gap analysis to determine readiness for major grant development activities; developing and implementing plans to enhance the infrastructure for grant readiness.
Defining roles and rules of engagement, negotiating financial relationships and helping define grant implementation responsibilities between all parties involved in grant development opportunities.
Reviewing and analyzing proposals for consistency in program description, theoretical basis, objectives, evaluation plan, budget and fit with grantor guidelines. Editing draft applications for accuracy, completeness and clarity in accordance with grant requirements.
Facilitating the transition of funded grant applications into active program development, operation or implementation. Serving as a resource by providing information, research, analysis, written reports and recommendations as needed.
General Qualifications
Knowledge and skills identified below are typically acquired through advanced level academic studies in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, sociology, allied health, or a related field from an accredited college or university and five years of successful grant development experience in a healthcare/medical, academic, scientific or research setting. Masters degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to plan, design, evaluate and write academic or scientific research proposals.
Demonstrated ability to conduct literature research and synthesize findings.
Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously and function autonomously to meet the needs of a diverse client base are essential.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate programs and budgets.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products.
