Works closely with both Development & Support teams. Senior technical writer/editor takes responsibility for writing and editing technical documentation. Documentation ranges from descriptions of complicated systems software installations, software requirements specifications, system design documents, versions description documents, interface control documents, user manuals, etc. Senior technical writer will research and write instructional guides, import screen captures, format documents using specific guidelines. The technical writer insures that the documentation is clear, concise, and detailed enough to be useful for multiple audiences, including testers, developers, and users. The software documentation writer works closely with software developers and other technical authors to insure technical accuracy. The technical writer is required to find graphics, pictures, or illustrations to go along with the documentation and will be responsible for posting documentation on the Web or directly into a computer program as well. The senior technical writer/editor will check the text for grammar, correct spelling, information accuracy, punctuation and will also make sure that the usage of computer terms is correct. Depending on their technical knowledge, he/she may check the technical content of the document. Required Use of standard PC Hardware MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Project, Acrobat Reader and MS XP or Windows Desktop environment 14+ Years with HS or 10+ Years with AA or 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhD Conceptual knowledge of the Software development process Knowledge of Software Documentation, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Acrobat Reader and MS XP or Windows Desktop environment General conceptual knowledge of the software development process. General and functional knowledge in Software Documentation 5+ yrs experience in the Technical Writer/Editor area. These efforts should have supported software development documentation and security documentation initiatives. Should have hands on experience with the following documents: Software Requirements Documents, Software Design Documents, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), CONOPS, Software Test Plans, Installation Guides, Users Manuals. Some experience in Requirements Definition and Testing would be a plus DCID 6/3 Automated Security documents as SSAAs, SRTMs and STP&Ps. Skills and at least 5 years of hands on experience using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Project, Acrobat Reader and MS XP or W Desired DCID 6/3 Security Documentation experience, Relational DB Concepts and Oracle Concepts General knowledge of relational database concepts is a plus.
