Sr. Staffing Specialists & Staffing Specialists Shift will be 11:00am-8:00pm est.

Due to our continued growth, and recent contract award we currently have an immediate need for a Sr. Staffing Specialists and Staffing Specialists in Alexandria, VA supporting the DHS-NPPD Project. The shift will be 11:00am-8:00pm est. This position provides expert consultant and advisory services to senior agency and HR officials on staffing and placement options, alternatives and qualification requirements of positions to be filled. The incumbent possesses in-depth subject matter expertise in the area of staffing and placement, including OPM's Personal Qualification Standards. 

 

Area of Expertise:  Conducts competitive and non-competitive staffing and placement actions; Drafts vacancy announcements and crediting plans and/or automated questionnaires; Evaluates applicant qualifications in comparison to OPM’s Personal Qualification Standards and any relevant agency standards; Develops a best qualified list of applicants using category ranking or other similar rating methods; Prepares Certificates of Eligibles for management’s consideration in making selections; Resolves issues with managers and applicants on staffing actions; Audits Certificates of Eligibles after management selection to ensure compliance, and closes recruitment case files.

Job Requirements:
Must have had at least one year of specialized experience at GS-201-12 level performing staffing functions as described below.  Specialized experience must have been performed during the 36 months.  Must have extensive knowledge of regulations as they pertain to Title 5.  Must have extensive knowledge and experience in preparing vacancy announcements, job analysis and crediting plans.  Must have extensive knowledge and experience in preparing certificates of eligible’s, including veteran's preference regulations.  Must have extensive knowledge of Classification.  Must have been Delegated Examining Unit "DEU" certified in a prior position / or have received DEU Training.
