Sr. Information Engineer (Windows Platform Capacity Planning)
ECS is looking for a Sr. Information Engineer (Windows Platform Capacity Planning) to support the capacity planning and performance engineering activities for the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Data Center at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Springfield, VA.
Required Experience/Education:
*Candidate must have 5-10 years of information technology experience, preferably direct experience in capacity planning and performance engineering
*Candidate must have 3 -5 years of experience with distributed operating systems such as Windows 2003
*Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certification preferred
*Candidate should have a solid background in understanding performance metrics and data.
*Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, but experience can be substituted
*Experience with performance agents, such as IBM Tivoli Monitor (ITM), and workload modeling tools, such as Hyperformix, Athene and HP Openview is a plus.
*Familiar with a variety of capacity planning concepts, practices, and procedures
*US Citizenship Required
*Possess or ability to obtain a Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Full Field Background Investigation (FFBI)
Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent analytical, evaluation and insights skills
*Ability to present recommendations to high ranking government officials
*Self-motivated, resourceful, results-oriented
