DescriptionThe candidate will be responsible for working with the Office of the Provost Marshal General and United States Army Military Police School by providing doctrine development and training support for the Iraqi Police Transition Team (PTT) Training Program and the Afghanistan National Police Mentorship and Partnership Unit (ANP M/P) Training Program. These training programs are designed to prepare Military Police deployers to perform their duties in developing democratic police forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The specific responsibilities could include: 1. The candidate will be performing continuous research, analysis, and assessment of the pre-existing Iraqi PTT and ANP M/P Training Program.2. Based on this assessment and knowledge of law enforcement operations and training, detainee operations, and the rule of law, individual will develop new training programs that incorporate a strategy to address long-standing deficiencies of Iraqi and Afghanistan police force development.3. The candidate will be responsible for continuously updating training support package, which provides emerging doctrine for policing in a counterinsurgency and consists of student presentations, lesson plans, an instructor manual, supporting references, and useful web links, in order to provide relevant instruction and enable deployers to keep pace with ongoing changes in police development in Iraq and Afghanistan.Required SkillsThe candidate needs to have a broad knowledge of law enforcement operations, foreign police force development, rule of law, detainee operations.Required ExperienceThe candidate should have prior military and/or civilian law enforcement experience. The candidate must have experience in developing training courses, lesson plans, utilizing training support materials.
