Payroll Technician
STG International, Inc. is currently seeking a Payroll Technician to join our team on a federal contract with the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in Reston, Virginia.
ResponsibilitiesPerform payroll administrative, operational and/or analytical duties to ensure all functions human resources/payroll administration transactions are completed accurately, correctly, and in a timely fashion to meet payroll cycles. Integrate input from various sources to create a cohesive product.
Required SkillsMust have skills in mathematics and logical thinking. Ability to interpret written legal materials, such as regulations and plan documents; knowledge of general principles and practices of accounting or bookkeeping practices. Attention to detail is a requirement as is the ability work either independently or with a team. Required ExperienceA total of two (2) years of Federal government experience is required for this position. One (1) year of experience must be specialized experience. Minimum/General Experience - One (1) year of experience in processing payroll actions into an enterprise-wide HR/Payroll automated application. Specialized Experience – One (1) year of experience performing payroll administration functions such as:maintaining payroll records, generating and reviewing payroll reports. examining, verifying and maintaining accounting data. making complex pay adjustments. responding to inquiries from employees, supervisors, external agencies (e.g., Federal, State and/or Local governments), financial institutions, etc.applying pay and leave laws, rules, regulations regarding entitlements to overtime, differentials, hazardous duty, holiday special rates, premium pay, and allowances.processing tax levies and collection of other debts due the U.S. Government or court order actions; and/or experience with reviewing and processing W-4, state and local tax cards.
