Maintenance Electrician
General Description of Responsibilities:
• Under direction of the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will provide for the daily maintenance operation and activities for all assigned facilities/areas. Incumbent receives and evaluates work orders and requests, investigates requests or problems where appropriate, and establishes priorities. Interacts professionally with contractors, vendors and corporate staff members, maintains effective working relationships in cooperation with the Alutiiq management team to meet the government’s hospital mission objectives.
• Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
• Work involves electrical maintenance that contain circuits or equipment predominantly operating at voltages less than 600 volts such as power panels, transformers, motors, motor control cen-ters, circuit breakers, conduits, cables, lighting fixtures and utilization devices.
• Individual shall have a strong background in controls.
• Individual must be able to interpret wiring diagrams for a complete primary power system in order to locate failures; and to determine the need for and follow emergency procedures in order to ensure safety and provide continuous electric service.
Specific Responsibilities:

• Thorough working knowledge of National and Local Electrical codes.
• Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day
• Plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines.
• Read, interpret and work from drawings.
• Originates necessary documents, forms, reports, etc. and to query various computer work sys-tems to extract information concerning projects, materials, or services
• Material coordination; Coordinates with other trades personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions.
• Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
• Able to inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs
• Perform on call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Ensures proper housekeeping practices are strictly observed.
• Assist in any trade when necessary to accomplish maintenance activities.
• Willing to work days, evenings, and nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Job Requirements, Mandatory:
• Five years experience in the electrical trade in service and maintenance.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Technical, vocational or trade school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and provide current driving record.
• General knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
Job Requirements, Preferred:
• Background in Building and Hospital Maintenance preferred.
