Position Description: JIEDDO Joint Task Force PALADIN Technical Integrator Synopsis: The Counter IED Division of the Operations Directorate of Joint Task Force PALADIN provides all levels of support to Combined Joint Task Force (Afghanistan) for all ongoing operations with an emphasis on C-IED operations underway within the CJTF area of responsibility. Basic Functions: The Technical Integrator (TI) serves as the primary JTF Paladin point of contact for support and coordination with JIEDDO, service laboratories and engineers, CJTF 82 Science and Technology advisors and field units for all technologies related to C-IED. The TI will receive input from field units and define C-IED technical capability gaps. The TI supports the development, analysis, and selection of available or proposed technologies. Candidate will be knowledgeable with decision making processes such as the military decision making process, matrix, or systems engineering analytical process. He will coordinate with CJTF-82, CENTCOM and JIEDDO to draft required Joint Urgent Operational Needs Statements, Operational Needs Statements and 10-liner request as appropriate to fill the requirements created by capability gap analysis. This position requires a multi-disciplined facilitator who understands the technical and operational aspects of counter-IED operations; the TI must have a working knowledge of DoD acquisition and basic business programmatics in order to manage risk over cost, schedule, and performance for assigned initiatives. The individual must be able to: apply threat analysis, facilitate development of technologies to meet operational capability gaps, assess the applicability of the technology alternatives, coordinate proposed solution concepts with field units, understand and execute develop technology deployment plans, manage receipt in theater assigned initiatives, facilitate operational assessment of fielded technologies. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs. The TI prepares and delivers briefings, information papers and other forms of communication to JIEDDO executive level leadership and others as required. The SI will be required to interact on a daily basis with industry, government labs, contractors, other government agencies, and academia on all initiative issues. The candidate will perform other duties as assigned. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: - The contractor shall leverage experience, expertise, and ongoing activities to provide Ops Dir/JTF PALADIN support in the most responsive, efficient, and economical way. - As required, the contractor shall provide short turn around analytical support of concepts, insights, and findings. - Perform open-source, on-line/library research as needed. - Identifies additional critical tasks and perform them as needed and required. - Providing a full range of support for quick-reaction responses to operational, technical, and programmatic taskings. - Provision of general, military, scientific, and technical intelligence expertise. Qualifications Required: - Experience: Ten plus (10+) years of experience working with military technologies and technology development. Focused experience in technology acquisition and operational testing. Knowledgeable with decision making processes such as the military decision making process, matrix, and systems engineering analytical process. Working knowledge of DoD acquisition and basic business programmatics. Must be competent in using (including creation and manipulation of documents) with MS Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel programs. - BS degree in Engineering or Physics - Secret. - Place of performance: Afghanistan.Adverse battlefield conditions:Heat well in excess of 110 degrees in the Summer, cold and freezing conditions during the winter Rough Terrain including climbing rocks, mountains and fording bodies of water. Hostile environment to include persons that may cause bodily harm, injury or loss of life. Required to work at times with little sleep or rest for extended periods of time while producing both physically and mentally challenging projects.
