Intelligence Analyst 3 Description: These positions serve as subject matter experts (SMEs) supporting the Department of Defense in reviewing classified material and making appropriate redactions rendering the submitted material as unclassified. The vast majority of the material to be submitted will fall within one of several Original Classification Authorities (OCAs). Incumbents will work closely with the appropriate OCAs to identify classified terms, sentences and/or paragraphs contained in submitted classified material that upon removal will render that material 'unclassified.' Of utmost importance will be the accuracy and timeliness of these declassification reviews to insure all submitted classified material requiring review for declassification purposes are completed 100% of the time. Incumbents will seek assistance and make declassification recommendations to the OSD representatives for final declassification determinations. Incumbents will follow all written directives, guidelines and instructions pertaining to the review of classified material for declassification purposes and seek specific guidance. Incumbent may be required to perform a wide variety of associated duties in order to meet the requirements of this sensitive position and the needs of the DoD. Specifically, incumbents may be tasked with drafting various memos/correspondence. Incumbents must have an established background working in the intelligence community (IC) with experience handling, working with and storing all levels of classified material. Incumbents must be able to comprehend as well as competently and confidently apply guidance from legal rulings, security guides, intelligence information reports, and make the appropriate redactions to classified material with little oversight. Incumbents in concert with the Team Lead must be able to identify and overcome all challenges pertaining to classification guidance and work flow processes that may arise while still completing all declassification reviews within given timelines. Incumbent must be able to plan, organize and coordinate work in a complex inter and intra office environment where diverse demands are commonplace. Incumbent must be willing and able to perform all other professional task that may arise. Volt is an Equal Opportunity EmployerRequirements: - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. - Bachelor degree with 5 years experience or Masters with 3 years experience. (4 years of experience may be substituted for degree). - Minimum 10 years experience in intelligence/counterintelligence and/or law enforcement/security matters in the DoD. - Familiarity with DoD classification and declassification guidelines, policies and procedures as well as associated security matters. - Demonstrated ability to analyze and properly declassify correspondence. - Must be customer focused and have excellent communications skills (oral, written and reading legal documents). - Ability to interact with all OCAs within DoD to determine the necessary redactions to render a given classified document as unclassified. ***Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. ***Candidate must have passed a certified Drug Test & Background Check prior to start date.
