INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

This position supports reengineering of the Navy curriculum from traditional classroom delivery to Web-based distance learning delivery.  Instructional designers will analyze government furnished materials and design and develop Web-based training for delivery on the Navy’s E-Learning Network.  Specific duties will include reviewing and organizing instructional materials, consulting with subject matter experts, designing and developing storyboards, and coordinating with graphic artists, programmers, and quality assurance personnel following a standardized production process to efficiently produce high quality Web-based training.  Duties will also include communicating with team members, customers, and other corporate staff on the progress of course analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation by e-mail, written reports, PowerPoint presentations, and verbally; leading meetings, workshops, and training sessions dealing with production of Web-based training materials; representing CTC at kickoff meetings and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs); and extensively interfacing with the customer.

Qualified candidates must have a MA/MS in Instructional Design or related field plus 2-4 years directly related experience, or a BA/BS in Instructional Design or related field plus 4-6 years directly related experience. High level of expertise with software that facilitates the design of instruction (storyboards, flow charts, assessments, etc.).  Basic knowledge of HTML, XML, and other scripting languages. Experience producing SCORM and 508 compliant Web-based training using Outstart/Evolution and experience with Web-based course management tools.
