Environmental Specialist (Air Quality)

South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), one of the nation's largest and most technologically sophisticated environmental compliance agencies, is headquartered in Diamond Bar, California, 30 miles east of downtown L.A., near the junction of the 57 and 60 freeways.  The work we do affects the quality of life of over 17 million people living in four Southern California counties!

We seek AIR QUALITY SPECIALISTS for our planning and rule development function.  These responsible, journey-level positions generally perform a variety of professional assignments in the development and formulation of data analysis, reports, plans, assessments, and strategies for the evaluation and improvement of air quality; and develop rules and regulations based on the Air Quality Management Plan.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, or the physical, social, or biological sciences, depending upon the functions of the assigned unit AND two years of technical air quality or professional analytical experience that would demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position to which assigned.
