Reporting to the VP of Operations for the Sensor Systems Line of Business within the Electronics and Integrated Solutions Operating Group. Manages the Operations Function for Sensor Systems Operations based in Mojave, CA. As a member of the Line of Business Operations staff, participates in or leads efforts which serve the business needs of the Line of Business or advances Operations ability to effectively serve businesses across the enterprise. With Engineering Management, ensures that BAE Systems products are designed for cost efficient manufacturability and testability. Leads the organization to reduce product and production costs through influencing product design, materiel selection and the optimization of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes. Ensures the procurement process and the supply chain are optimized to support customer requirements As a senior member of the Business area staff, leads the development of the manufacturing fulfillment strategy for production of the business products through development of an outsourcing plan or development and deployment of internal manufacturing capabilities. Experience in Military and Commercial Aircraft Modification Management experience with a heavier emphasis on military. Ability to understand and lead manpower and skill set forecasting for aircraft modifications. A knowledge of Air Force and Navy 2-level maintenance concepts, TCTO?s, and maintenance support of flight operations. Leads the Operations function in meeting or exceeding business objectives associated with the development and delivery of company products. Manages the development of Operations capital strategy and resulting budget in support of the Line of Business. Manages functional expense budgets. Leads the organization through merger, acquisition and integration efforts. Supports the Operating Group Strategic Objectives. Establishes a work environment of openness and trust where employees are challenged, developed and work together as a team to achieve business objectives. As a Senior member of the business area leadership team participates in the development and execution of the business's strategic business plan. Leads the Operations organization in influencing product design and development to ensure the unit production cost (materiel, assembly, integration and test) meet business objectives. - Bachelors Degree in a directly related technical field. - 15 + years of related work experience, experience preferred where advanced leadership and influencing skills have been demonstrated over a large span of control. Must demonstrate a high degree of self motivation and self awareness. - Communicates vision and strategy, leadership style significantly impacting a line of business . - Demonstrated ability to negotiate across functions and business areas to achieve business objectives. - Must have a record of successfully leading organizations through significant improvement and change initiatives. - Strong production planning and scheduling background. - Strong background in manufacturing including lean and other advanced manufacturing concepts . - Strong background in program management.
