Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is searching for a Competitive Intelligence Market Analyst to partner with other senior analysts in their role to measure critical parameters such as market size and market share; competitors and potential customers; strategies, technologies and financial activities; customer satisfaction levels; new technological developments affecting industry and grand challenge trends that may impact PNNL’s strategic directions.  The candidate will provide decision makers and other clients with quantitative and qualitative data on the following: Specific research and development activities; including but not limited to government and industry activities and directions in science and technology; business and economic trends, political and social trends that impact research and development of interest to PNNL and PNNL's clients. This position requires highly visible interactions with senior managers and staff within PNNL, the government, and industry.


Additionally:
- Conduct secondary market research as requested.
- Support in the analysis of collected market research data to determine potential markets for entry, size of the market opportunity, and overall strength of the market.
- Conduct searches to obtain data on market segmentation
- Collect information on the economies of scale, access to distribution channels, government regulation, and technological advancements that can contribute to the success or failure of a technology.
- Provide information to support the market and business development portions of the commercialization and business planning process.
- Identify potential funding sources for technology areas by reviewing federal budget documents.
- Partner with senior analysts by conducting research on competitors; and/or customers (industry, government, university) position in the marketplace.
- Conduct searches to identify competitor's technology, pricing, distribution channels and geographic locations.
- Collect and summarize past, current, and future research activities/directions.
- Provide information on financial status.
- Perform patent searches to assist other senior analysis in determining the patentability of a technology development.


Minimum Requirements:
*Bachelor's Degree in business or marketing plus 7 years of experience or MBA plus 4 years of experience. MBA preferred.

*Prior experience within a government entity desirable.
