 QFC stores are seeking Cake Decorators that are quick and proficient in decorating custom cakes along with cakes and deserts that our customers will enjoy from our ready cases. GENERAL JOB DISCRIPTION:

Employee is an active part of the Bakery team responsible for production, merchandising and sale of decorated product line.  Decorators are required to use a commercial size mixer, Kopycake projector, airbrush, microwave oven and a variety of icing bags and tips.  The decorator is also required to maintain cleanliness of the decorator production area, bakery back room, sink areas and equipment.  The employee is required to use appropriate customer service skills throughout the work shift and must comply with company policies.  Shifts vary from week to week, and weekend and holiday work is required. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· Must join local union.

· Must comply with all QFC security and company policies.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

· Speak and understand English.

· Must be 18 years or older.

· Read, write, see, and hear.

· Ability to use basic math skills.

· Cake decorating experience.

· Aptitude for learning and understanding.

· Use appropriate public relations skills throughout shift.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Must be able to walk and stand up to 8 hours in an 8-hour day.

· Must be able to stand, lift, walk, carry, climb ladders, push, pull, bend, climb stairs, reach, and handle with both hands.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

 

· Provide GREAT customer service consistently.

· Operate a cash register.

· Handle money.

· Prepare all decorator products from components as described in QFC Decorator Training Manual.  This includes adherence to weight and appearance standards and consistency of product content.

· Operate an espresso machine.

· Clean and maintain decorator production area, equipment and storage areas.

· Order, receive and arrange appropriate storage for decorator components.

· Operate a scale, label maker, large commercial mixer, Kopycake projector, airbrush and microwave oven.

· Prepare custom cake orders of assorted varieties, including wedding cakes and ice cream cakes, per QFC specifications.

· Inventory and record daily sales of decorator items, noting production and sales.

· Prepare and submit weekly decorator sales reports.

· Record holiday sales trends and update custom cake book pictures.

· Train new decorators (if required).

· Assist in training new Bakery department personnel concerning decorator products and cake ordering procedures.

· Attend decorator informational meetings as required.
